Rebalance Patch Note — Paloma and Maddie Cut, Gwenny Bug Fixed

The September 24 patch is a broad trimming pass across nine mercenaries, with one genuine bug fix and a notable rework to how Maddie’s Burn stims behave.

  • 4th ability changed: Burn stims now apply a Burn effect instead of dealing instant damage

  • 2nd ability: Electrocute value decreased by 15%
  • 4th ability: Commander Resistance value decreased by 10%

Gwenny

  • Thundershield 3rd ability: +25% damage to the Commander

Captain’s Take

Paloma gets the structural change here, not just a numbers cut: losing the per-stunned-enemy scaling turns her from a snowball into a flat-value unit, which makes her far less rewarding in long fights even with the 40% compensation. Maddie’s Burn stims switching from instant damage to applied Burn is the sleeper item, since that interacts with the Burning rule change shipped alongside Bernice’s rotation. Gwenny’s fix is worth knowing if you run her against Ortrun — that matchup was quietly broken since her September debut.
