Dragons or Hounds — Meet Tenebras & Hunter, the New Commanders

Two Commanders step onto the battlefield for the week of August 14, 10:00 UTC — August 21, 10:00 UTC, and they could hardly fight less alike. One fields mechanical dragons; the other never stops hunting.

Tenebras — Stronger Alongside Her Allies

  • Passive: At the start of turn 1 and whenever Tenebras uses an ability, she summons a Graceful Mecha-Dragon into the first row (only if one is not already deployed)
  • Turn 3: Orders the Graceful Mecha-Dragon to hit every enemy in the other lines with Health Siphon
  • Turn 5: Copies the Graceful Mecha-Dragon currently on the field, packing the first row with duplicates

Graceful Mecha-Dragon

  • 1st: When Tenebras uses her abilities — grants Tenebras and itself Block and Electrocute for 1 turn
  • 2nd: End of turn — grants Tenebras Block and Electrocute for 1 turn
  • 3rd: On allied Fighter spawn — gains Health equal to a percentage of that Fighter’s Attack
  • 4th: On enemy death — gains Attack
  • 5th: Immunity

Hunter — Relentless, With the Dog to Match

  • Passive: Start of turn — summons a Chaser Dog in the 1st row
  • Turn 2: Gains the ability “Enemy appears: applies Infection to the spawned enemy”
  • Turn 5: Deals damage to all wounded Commanders 10 times

Chaser Dog

  • 1st: Multi-attack
  • 2nd: On spawn — applies Commander Infection to the enemy Commander
  • 3rd: Enemy attacked — lowers the Attack of a random enemy with buffed Attack

Both are available through the event, which runs for one week only.

Captain’s Take

Tenebras is the more interesting build-around of the pair: her passive fires on every ability use, so anything that accelerates her rotation compounds, and the turn-5 row-fill turns a single surviving dragon into a wall that keeps feeding her Block and Electrocute. Hunter is a returning face — she first appeared back in November 2025 — and her kit has been trimmed since, with the Chaser Dog now on a plain Multi-attack and the infection proc landing on spawn rather than on spawn or death. If you already have her, Tenebras is where your pulls should go.
