Meet Bernice & Morgan — Wildfire or Artillery Turrets
Pyromaniac or firepower — one Commander turns every battle into a wildfire, the other answers with artillery.
Bernice — Relentless Flames
Bernice burns the enemy down while the heat empowers her own side:
- Passive: When attacked: gains Resistance for 2 turns and applies Burning to all enemy mercenaries. Lasts until turn 3
- Turn 2: Applies Burning to all enemies (including the Commander) and heals herself for 200% of current Health
- Turn 4: Applies Burning to all enemies (including the Commander), and grants allied mercenaries on the field or spawned this turn Multi-Attack, Accuracy, and Antidote
Note the Burning rule itself: Burning no longer triggers when attacking a Commander whose team inflicted that status on a mercenary.
Morgan — Artillery Support
- Turn 2: Spawns Morgan’s Turret with a Force Shield in the first row. It fires at a random enemy mercenary whenever a ranged ally attacks, and grants Force Shields to allies behind it on death. The Turret respawns 1 turn after being destroyed
- Turn 3: For 4 turns — every Ranged ally spawned (except Replicas) receives a Force Shield
- Turn 4: From the start of each turn — when a ranged ally attacks an enemy (except the Commander), deals damage equal to 20% of its Attack to the enemy Commander
Captain’s Take
Bernice has spent most of the year getting trimmed — three separate patches cut her Burn values since July — so seeing her headline a rotation with a self-heal for 200% of current Health suggests the developers think she has been pushed far enough down. Morgan’s kit is unchanged from her July pairing with Kraisa, so if you passed on her then, the maths has not moved. Pick Bernice for burn-stacking squads, Morgan for ranged ones.
