Gold Rush Update — Collectible Leaderboard and Platinum

Gold Rush just got a competitive overhaul, and the change flips how the event’s endgame plays out.

What Changed

Leaderboard rework: The global leaderboard no longer crowns whoever finds the single biggest Golden Nugget. Rankings are now driven by the total number of Collectibles gathered during the event — every pickup moves you up the board.

New collectible — Platinum: Once the shared pool of regular Collectibles is exhausted, a brand-new collectible starts appearing: Platinum. It counts toward the leaderboard exactly like any other Collectible, extending the climb even after the main rewards are claimed.

Like all Collectibles, Platinum is seasonal — it disappears when the event ends, so there’s no banking it for next time.

This kills the lottery aspect of Gold Rush and replaces it with pure grind — good news for consistent daily players, bad news for anyone who used to coast on one lucky nugget. The Platinum mechanic is the sneaky-important part: the leaderboard race no longer stalls when the pool runs dry, so late-event pushes are now viable.
